In 2012, Google show various moves in their strategy to hit the spammers and gives the best results on the SERPs. We can say those 365 days of 2012 is adventurous and all webmaster takes interest in Google day to day updates. We were met in early spring with the Earth-shattering Penguin update in April 2012 which is considered as the biggest news in the year. As soon as the webmasters take a breath of relief, EMD update shakes the earth of Google SERPs which hits the domains with keywords. With these gradients, Google mix up the Panda and Penguin refreshes and serves the results on the SERPs for the efforts made by webmasters.

google 2012

These are the moves and efforts of Google to make us aware of their aim which is, to provide the best results to the visitors. But what you learn from these efforts is the motive of our post. If you look at 2012 as a year to regroup and relearn, 2013 is poised to be your best year yet. If not…then you probably won’t be doing SEO in 2013. Let’s have a look what Google trying to make learn for us and how much it is effective in 2013.

SEO Mantra is to Love Longtail:

In the ancient time i.e. before 2012, we all are greedy to have one word keyword in the SERPs and pinning all of your hopes, dreams and desires on ranking for it. But now the story is different and the previous trend is gone.          Just try to post quality content is worth to your site that targets often-ignored long tail keywords. This is not only to protect you against over-optimization penalties, but you’ll find that the competition levels for these keywords are laughable.

White Hat is Again Highlighted

It is the result of the Google’s Penguin update that helps to come back the trend of White Hat SEO and make Black Hat SEO to the knees. I hope we all know the bad impact of Black Hat SEO which was sometimes gave positive results but according to the present scenario Google likes only White Hat SEO techniques. Quality content and right use of keywords may leads to the success in 2013. If you want to carve out a permanent spot on Google’s front page you need to step your white hat game up.

Relevancy in the New PR:

Previously I have heard a lot about the submission process continues on the most relevant PR sites. Does it really matters for Google to have a backlink profile with high PR sites only? According to my views it doesn’t. In 2013, the motive should be adopting websites with a good reputation in the eyes of Google which is cleared by the Page Authority, Domain Authority of the website and relevancy of the website from which we are linked. So the summary is to forget PR and set your link building crosshairs on related sites.

Link Profile And Anchor text Diversity:

As we discussed before on Search Engine Mag, link profile diversity should be the major concern for the webmasters in 2013 as Google told the same from the very first day of Google Panda Update and same thing it refers in Penguin. Here Anchor Text Diversity means not to use the targeted keywords in the hyperlink link building. Use different phrases rather using targeted keywords.
